He gave necessary directions to ensure that all guidelines mandated by the authorities are followed at the sites.
The DMRC has already taken a number of measures at its sites to ensure that the construction work does not further contribute to the current increase in pollution levels across NCR.
Regular water sprinkling at the sites, mandatory washing of the wheels of site vehicles before they enter the city’s roads, proper covering of all construction materials, and proper disposal and recycling of all construction and demolition waste are some of the measures taken by the DMRC.
“Anti-smog guns have been deputed at the sites as per prescribed norms. In fact, the DMRC was the first construction agency in the National Capital Region to deploy anti-smog guns much before their use was mandated by the government. Presently, around 82 such machines have been deployed across the construction sites and more will be added as per requirement,” a DMRC spokesperson said.
The DMRC MD checked the functioning of the anti-smog guns and wheel washing facilities and took a detailed briefing regarding all the arrangements. He also gave directions to the site personnel to ensure that the bodies of the dumpers are also cleaned and there is no overflow of construction materials from moving vehicles.
“The DMRC has already intensified the number of inspections by the Environment department officials across all sites of DMRC to ensure that all guidelines are thoroughly adhered to,” the spokesperson added.
